The exhibition was presented as one of the new features of the 9th edition of the National Design Meeting, opening within the framework of the same.
FSWD is the first design exhibition of its kind in Spain, which aims to make visible various initiatives carried out by professionals from our country in recent years.
123 physical pieces, panels and audiovisual material of industrial, graphic, interior design and service design that were presented to the public under five thematic axes: “Identity and territory”, “Intersections”, “Internationalization”, “Sustainability” and “Complicities”.
In this first configuration of the exhibition, pieces by twenty Galician designers were included: Álvaro Valiño; Amalia Puga; Ana Vidal Ruiz de Velasco; Arturo Álvarez; Carlos Lorenzo (el Rojo); Cenlitrosmetrocadrado; Desescribir; Desoños; Ekinocio; Era Comunicación; Fíos; Guillotina Estudio; Idoia Cuesta; Jorge Díaz; Mais Types; NM type; Numax; Pancho Lapeña; Pepe Barro; Uqui Permui and Xosé Teiga.
Conceived with the intention of traveling, FSWD / Identity and Territory looks to the future to travel through different cities and countries with the idea of sharing with different audiences this, ambitious and modest at the same time, x-ray of the current panorama of Spanish design and its best voices. That was the challenge of the exhibition design, developed by Enorme Estudio, the result of a call for projects. It proposes an exhibition with the possibility of being replicated in a responsive format, adaptable to different sizes, number of projects, spaces and is based, fundamentally, on pieces – pedestals that have been produced by hand in Galicia, with Galician wood and the support of the Galician Agency of the Forestry Industry.
