About the exhibition
From June 30 to November 11, LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial will host a new itinerary of the exhibition From Spain With Design: Identity and Territory, a look at Spanish design in recent years that comes to Asturias after having successfully visited Santiago de Compostela, Aveiro (Portugal), Murcia, Valencia and Badajoz.
FSWD: Identity and Territory makes visible initiatives carried out by Spanish professionals and brings together different types of design such as industrial design, graphic design, interior design and service design that are presented in the exhibition following a common thread that makes up five thematic axes: “Identity and territory”, “Intersections”, “Internationalization”, “Sustainability” and “Complicities”.
New pieces
FSWD / Identity and Territory is conceived as a living entity in its itinerancies, so the pieces on display vary from one exhibition to another and in each community the representation of professionals and studios from the territory is reinforced.
In this itinerary in Gijón there will be more than 150 physical pieces, panels and audiovisual material on display, of which twelve have an Asturian stamp. Of this dozen Asturian pieces, some were already part of the exhibition, such as those by Patricia Urquiola and Selegna Design, and new ones will be added to them such as the posters by Think Design, Brezo Rubín and Goyo Rodríguez.
The twelve Asturian studios and professionals are: Selegna Desing, with Hipertermia profunda; Patricia Urquiola, a piece by LABoral; Think Diseño, with Attala Mundus and the poster Artesanía Asturiana; Goyo Rodríguez, with the poster Asturias dise; Brezo Rubín, with Crea&Cree; Hélice, with El foco Adalit L-5000; Kos, with a dress from the zarzuela «Barbián»; Negroimpar, presents two works, La mesita Portobello and El reloj Hatch; Maite Prida, with bags, a sustainability project that is part of LABoral’s programs; La Pila Studio, with the image made for the 2021 LGTBI Film Festival; Noel Llopis, with the video game Subterfuge; Milkstone, with the video game Farm together.
